Motivational, Emotional, and Social Factors Explain Academic Achievement in Children Aged 6–12 Years: A Meta-Analysis

Recent studies highlight the effect of cognitive factors on academic achievement, ignoring motivational, emotional, and social factors. This provides background for present study, a meta-analysis relationship between achievement motivational (motivation, self-concept, self-esteem), emotional (emotional intelligence, competence, well-being), (social skills) in children aged 6–12 years (37 samples, n = 15,777). The methodology based PRISMA protocols was applied: phases inclusion exclusion articles, analysis size, heterogeneity, publication bias, and, finally, meta-regressions moderation analysis. results showed moderate positive size (0.321) (0.210) small (0.172) moderating effects age (65% factors) geographical area (52% factors, 17% 76% were studied.
